A Stepping Stone in Westridge's Sports History

Laughing and screaming, proud members of the Westridge community trailed behind the CIF champions. The students waved pom-poms, cheering on their fellow classmates. On November 21, the Westridge Varsity Tennis team, riding on the back of the golf carts, was celebrated by an enthusiastic crowd for their triumphant end to a dominant season.

A Sneak Peak Into the Winter Season

Horn has strong hopes for the upcoming winter sports season. With the loss of many impactful players, hopefully, along with the addition of assistant coach Jordan Nedeff, the team can produce the same if not better results than last year's team.

A Loss for Words and Jerseys

Scrambling to find extra jerseys, this year’s Junior Varsity Soccer team is one of the largest teams in Westridge history. 32 students joined the JV soccer team this season, and during the first games of the JV season, there weren’t enough jerseys for their players.

Outside The Game Podcast

Spyglass wanted to create a space where athletes at Westridge could talk about anything they would not ordinarily discuss. We felt that a podcast was the best way to make these athletes’ experiences more personal, so we created our first-ever Spyglass podcast, Outside the Game! Go check it out!

Dig Pink Game Scores Double Win Against Chadwick

Amid the ribbon-covered walls, bright magenta jerseys, and the spirited shouting from the bleachers, Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman Volleyball played hard for wins against Chadwick in the annual Dig Pink volleyball game.

Blowing through the opposition, the Westridge Tigers have had an outstanding season. Both the golf and tennis teams have made history this season, with Varsity Golf winning their Prep League, and Varsity Tennis being the third ever Westridge team to play in the CIF-SS Quarterfinals.

Fall Sports Highlights

“It’s been a fabulous fall thus far” for Westridge athletics according to Director of Athletics Melanie Horn. Cross country has hit the ground running with some new runners and freshmen coming on board, and Horn says they’re “really stepping up.” In fact, Katherine N. ‘23 placed first for Westridge last weekend at the Woodbridge Invitational.
