Farewell Sherry Dai 

After 19 years of working in the Westridge Library as the assistant to the librarian, Sherry Dai will be retiring. Since she began at Westridge in 2000, Dai has been working hard to catalogue all of the online records for the library. Even though she feels that her job on campus is more of an invisible one, she still feels the warmness of the Westridge community every day. She is also always ready and excited to help any student find the perfect book.  

 

“Last year when I needed help finding a book about romantic poets for English, Ms. Dai helped me find the perfect book! She is always so generous and will be missed next year,” said Ayiana S., ’20.

 

Dai has not only witnessed many generations of students, but also seen massive changes on campus. During her time at Westridge, the science building and STEAM lab were both constructed, and the library underwent a renovation. Dai noted how much the renovation helped and supported the library staff, but what she loves and will miss most is the community.

 

“I love the faculty and the relationships that the girls have with the faculty,” said Dai. “I also love the relationships between the school and parents. Westridge has such a friendly and professional community. I wish I could keep teaching and working. I will miss the warmness I feel on campus.”

 

Dai’s love for the Westridge community is matched every day by the love her coworkers have for her. “She is wonderful! I couldn’t do without her,” said Pam Garcia, who works alongside her in the library. “She is so helpful and always pitches right in to get stuff done. She is a hard worker and great at her job.”

 

Wherever retirement takes, Ms. Dai will always be welcomed back on campus with the warmth she has felt for the past 19 years.
